Our view

Visa sits in several camps: a Premier member of the x402 Foundation, a contributor to MPP and the owner of its own Trusted Agent Protocol. Its article with Artemis put x402 at about $15.0M of adjusted volume over 109.6M transactions from May 2025 to 21 April, and concluded that cards suit consumer purchases while stablecoins suit machine micropayments. The research did not score rivals; these labels are the site’s reading of the dated evidence.
