PING and the 2025 mint copycats
PING, the first token minted by paying through x402 (October 2025), and six look-alike mint contracts that copied it within a week.
Checked 11 October
Our view
Seven mint contracts took in about $603K of USDC; about 25% went into trading pools and about 75% was withdrawn by admin or owner accounts within 3 to 27 days of deployment (on-chain records traced by the researchers). A withdrawal does not prove wrongdoing, and no refunds were found. On PING’s peak day it received 97.2% of all Base x402 transactions.
