Our view

A huge, fast-moving codebase, with about 46,000 commits since April 2026 (roughly 30% from AI coding accounts) and 73 that mention x402, yet no x402 usage shows on x402scan. The founder declared the token dead and the foundation is winding down after a class-action settlement (Decrypt and The Block, 5 August). The momentum label describes the code, not the token.
