x402 from zero

Circle

The USDC issuer, whose x402-compatible Nanopayments settle tiny payments in batches without gas; live on mainnet since 29 April.

Our view

Circle matters to x402 because of batching: a seller charging less than a tenth of a cent per call cannot pay a $0.001 settlement fee on each one, and Nanopayments settles many payments at once with a $0.000001 minimum. Its Arc chain opened on 16 September with no x402 volume reported yet. (The research did not score stewards; these labels are the site’s reading.)
